Better than Puskas? Ronaldo beats Real Madrid legend's scoring record by one goal

Cristiano Ronaldo has surpassed Ferenc Puskas after bettering the Real Madrid legend's goal scoring record by a single goal.
The Portuguese's Champions League hat-trick against Galatasaray took his total to an incredible 206 goals in 204 games - compared to the 1960s icon's 205 goals from the same number of games.
Those statistics have staked the 28-year-old's claim to be considered Real Madrid's greatest player, according to Spanish newspaper AS.

'Things could not have started better for us in this season's Champions League,' Ronaldo said.
'Scoring six goals is really good, it will give us a lot of confidence'
Having secured a new contract worth a mind boggling £288,000-per-week AFTER tax that is expected to keep him at the Bernabeu for the rest of his career, Ronaldo can now concentrate on helping the club win an elusive tenth Champions League title.

Ronaldo has always been a star turn at Madrid but fans will be hoping that this season he delivers even more, despite the world record £86m arrival of Gareth Bale.
It is 12 years since Real were crowned champions of Europe for the ninth time and the locals are tired of waiting, especially as arch-rivals Barcelona have won it three times in the intervening seasons.
Although Ronaldo is a Champions League winner with Manchester United, he still has some way to go to beat the three European Cups claimed by Puskas at Real Madrid - even if he has scored more goals than him.
